Evaluation 1

The title of the film- The title of my film is 'what is love' it was originally ' the circle of love' but the reason why i changed it was because 'what is love' fitted in to the story of what i was trying to portray. you see the title of the my film straight away and the text is written in a basic form by doing this it looks home edited which i wanted it to look like because the whole idea of my movie, is that a young school girl is trying to find out the meaning of love by doing a school project.

Setting/location- My film is set in many different areas, the reason for this is because i want it to look like the main character (the young school girl) is going to many different location and locating many different people trying to find out their meaning of love. i also feel that adding many different loacation it keep the audience focused and attached.
Costumes and props- To me i feel that costumes and props is the main thing you need to worry about in making a film. All my costume and props are very realistic because im trying to make it look like there are just day to day people and not actors.
Camerawork and editing-All my camerawork it POV shots, i wanted it to seem like a young girl making a home movie, that why most of the characters in my film are looking at the camera instead of ignorning it. Also in some of my shot it is a little bit shaky that because a aging i want to give a sense that someone is recording it.
Title font and style- My font and stlye is very basic because if i made it very fancy it would take away the fact that i am trying to make my video look like a school project.
Story and how the opening sets it up- The opening is set up to look like a young school girls project. Thge yung school girl is trying to find out the meaning of love but before is drfines it she gets other people from different generation to define what love means to them.
Genre and how the opening suggests it- The genre of my movie is a Romance, you can tell by the opening of the film that it is a romance by, firstly by the topic that all the characters are talking about 'Love and its meaning', also by the borders around each characters. Also by that are a lot more female characters then males due to the fact that women like talking about love more then men.
How characters are introduced- All my characters are introduced by them all tell the camera what they think love is.
Special effects- I created borders for my film to give it that homeedited feel to my movie. I also used video transitions to make the chaning of the scene smoother and also by againg making it look very creative.

Evaluation 7

I found my preliminary task i found it easier to do then my actual final piece, Athough both footage was about two completely different thing. There are many different things i have learned since completing preliminary  task things such as:

A title sequence, as you can i see i learnt how to put text into my movie, by using text you get a clear understanding of what is what.

I learnt how to create boreders to put into my film. borders are not in your typical day to day film but i was trying to show that it was a home edited film, that it was a teeagers school project. If i was to do my preliminary  task again i would not inclued borders, simply because i was trying to show a completely different story line.

I included credits i my fial piece and not in my preliminary  task. Credits make the audience aware of who is in the movie and it is initialy the names of the actors that make the audience go and see the movie.

I leart how to put in video transitions to again give that home editied feel to it. Also by putting in video Transitions made every time a new charcter appeard it made the whole moving to a ext slide look a lot smoother.

As you can see in the pictures above, it is showing match on match action and the 180 degree rule. The reason why i never used match on match action and the 180 degree was because i was trying to portray a non professinal effect i wanted to seem like a home movie and that someone one was behind the camera. I also feel that if i had put in match on match action and the 180 drgree rule it would have been a lot cleaner from when i did it i my preliminary  task.

Evaluation Activity 2

(The picture first picture at the top of the page is Ryden Malby from the movie Post Grad and the picture below it is Olivia from the movie what is love?)
Both Olivia and Ryden are the same age and they are both searching for something, however Olivia is searching for the meaning of love whist Ryden is searching for a job and the right guy. They are both young girls trying to grow up to fast. For example Ryden is in a hurry to find a job and an ideal guy and Olivia is trying to understand what love is and in desperate need to find it. They both have completely different styles, Olivia style is modern, she is very fashionable and up-to-date with all latest trends whereas Ryden style is vintage she likes old clothes which used to be fashionable in its time. Ryden plays the main character in her film, Olivia on the other hand doesn’t have a main role, even though Olivia doesn’t have a main role I feel that is kind of in the same situation as Ryden that’s why I choose these characters to compare!

I used youtube to upload my preliminary and my opening scene. By using youtube it was easy to upload it onto Blogger.

This is Mandy and her two best frends, Mandy is 17 year old. In her spare time Mandy loves to going shopping with her friends. Mandy favorite type of film is a Romance because she loves a good cry and a happy ending, Her favoirte tv shows are things like Glee, Gossip Girl, 90210. Mandy is really into pop music he favoirte artist at the moment Rihanna. Overall Mandy is your typical Girly girl.

(Tom leans in to hug Olivia, while hugging Olivia, toms looks into the camera and shakes his head!!)

Saffron: I love mummy, daddy, my big, big sister, my other big sister and my little brother.

Anna G: Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind;
And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.

(They Both hold hands and laugh)

Hannah: (beings to laugh and repeats) “everyone”

Trevor: love is this incredible feeling you get towards another person
Rita: oh be quite… (They both laugh) love is my children

Alexis:I don't know what love is

Jane: love means different things people. It is used to justify people's actions saying, they were done in the name of love. Love also allows you to make a fool of yourself... i should know!
